Colby women's soccer handles Maine-Farmington
FARMINGTON, Maine --
Colby College's women's soccer team went a third straight game without allowing a goal and Kara McCabe (Taft School/Watertown, Conn.) had two goals and one assist to power the Mules to a 6-0 non-conference victory over University of Maine at Farmington on Wednesday.
The Colby women's soccer team (2-0-1) and the men's soccer team (2-0) each have not allowed a goal so far this season.
Elizabeth Riley (Thornton Academy/Saco, Maine), the New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week for last week, made four saves in the nets for Colby. She has not allowed a goal in 245 minutes of goaltending this year.
First-year forward Laura Williamson (Kingswood Oxford/Manchester, Conn.) had one goal and two assists for the winners. Liz Morbeck (Lakeside School/Seattle, Wash.) got the opening goal of the contest, first-year midfielder Aimee Tetrault (Danvers/Danvers, Mass.) notched her first collegiate goal, and Kaitlin Herlihy (Simsbury/Simsbury, Conn.) also tallied.
Colby will play host to Trinity College in a NESCAC game Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
