Colby women's squash opens with victory

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. --

Morgan Pratt (Stanfordville, N.Y.) won at the first spot to lead the Colby College women's squash team to a 6-3 season opener win over Wesleyan University on Friday night.

The Mules (1-0) played just one match at the Wesleyan Invitational and then headed home to beat the winter storm. Colby was scheduled to play matches against Trinity College and Amherst College on Saturday.

Emilie Slack (Villanova, Pa.) took a win at the third position for Colby. Julia Benedict (Dover, Mass.), Jen Barrett (Marion, Mass.), Cate Young (Lincoln, Mass.) and Allison Dunn (Tucson, Ariz.) also won matches for the Mules.

Colby is off for winter break and will next play at the Williams Invitational on January 10-11.
