Colby women's squash earns win over Bowdoin, 6-3
WATERVILLE, Maine --
Nikki Patel (Avon, Conn.) won at the third position and Julia Benedict (Dover, Mass.) took a 3-2 victory at the fourth spot to help the Colby College women's squash team take a 6-3 victory over Bowdoin College at the Dunaway Squash Courts in the Alfond Athletic Center on Thursday night.
Colby, ranked 13th in the last national poll released, improved to 7-7 overall. Bowdoin, the 12th-ranked team in the country, fell to 4-12. Colby avenged a 5-4 loss to the Polar Bears on Bowdoin's home courts February 1.
The Mules also received wins from Maura Myers (McLean, Va.) at the fifth position, Cate Young (Lincoln, Mass.) at the seventh spot, Rachel Luskin (Scarsdale, N.Y.) at eight and Allison Dunn (Tucson, Ariz.) at the ninth spot.
Niki Clement (Rosemont, Pa.) won at the first spot for Bowdoin. Katherine Irving (Newport, R.I.) and Dodie Press (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) also had victories.
Colby will play host to Tufts University at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
