Colby baseball falls in final two games in Florida
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Carroll College scored 10 runs in the fifth and sixth innings to turn a 5-4 deficit into a 14-7 victory over Colby College in the opening game of a baseball doubleheader Friday in Florida.
Carroll also took a 12-3 win in the second game.
Colby scored five runs in the top of the fifth inning of the opener to take the 5-4 lead, but Carroll bounced back with five in the bottom of the inning and five more runs in the sixth.
Tyler Hales (Lexington, Mass.), Roddy Ames (Cotuit, Mass.), Brian Liberty (Hollis, N.H.) and Greg Ortiz (Northbrook, Ill.) each had two hits for Colby. Ames had three RBI, Ortiz had a triple and an RBI, and Hales had a double and an RBI.
Andy Carr (Conway, N.H.) had two doubles for the Mules in the second game. Nick Spillane (Darien, Conn.) also had two hits.
