Bowdoin baseball takes two from Colby

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Bowdoin College fell behind 4-2 after three innings, but stormed back for a 16-5 win over Colby College in the second game of a doubleheader in New England Small College Athletic Conference baseball Saturday.

Bowdoin belted five home runs in the opener to take a 17-1 victory.

Ricky Leclerc (Manchester, N.H.) had two homers and a double in the second game for Bowdoin (11-5, 3-2 NESCAC).

Nick Spillane (Darien, Conn.) homered and doubled for Colby in the second game.

In the first game, Nick Lawler (Auburn, Maine) had two home runs and four RBI for Bowdoin. Leclerc earned the victory for the Polar Bears and helped his own cause with a homer. Jared Lemieux (Readfield, Maine) and Chris McCann (Hopkinton, Mass.) also homered in the victory.

Bowdoin hit three of the homers in a seven-run second inning. Lawler and Lemieux hit back-to-back homers in a five-run fifth inning.

Tyler Hales (Lexington, Mass.) had two hits in the opener for Colby.
