Colby crews race at New Hampshire Championships

MERRIMACK RIVER --- The Colby College men's and women's crews each placed fourth overall but first among Division III schools at the New Hampshire Championships on Saturday.

The Colby men's varsity 8 had a time of 14 minutes, 31 seconds over the three-mile race. Holy Cross won the men's race, but the Mules earned the top time among the Division III schools in the race.

The Colby women also won among Division III schools with a time of 16:08. University of Massachusetts placed first.

In novice racing, both Colby crews finished in third place. The men had a time of 15:51, while WPI was the winner of the competition. The women came in at 17:24, and Bates won the women's race.
