Coast Guard varsity crews hold off Colby

LOWELL, Mass. --- The seventh-ranked Coast Guard women's varsity 8 crew won by just over six seconds over sixth-ranked Colby College in racing Saturday.

In the men's varsity 8 race, Coast Guard won by 1.1 seconds over the Mules and University of Connecticut placed third.

Both the Colby jayvee boats earned victories over Coast Guard. The Colby men won by 1.6 seconds, while the women finished more than five seconds ahead of Coast Guard.

In novice racing, the Colby women took a win over Coast Guard. Coast Guard was first in the novice men, Vermont took second and the Mules finished third.
