Colby golf fourth at USM Scramble
SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine --- The University of Southern Maine Huskies and the St. Joseph's College Monks each fired a 15-under-par 55 Friday afternoon at the annual five-man USM Scramble played at the Sable Oaks GC in South Portland.
The Monks were declared the event winner on matching cards. Playing for the winning Monks were Joe Manganaro, Frank Renaud, Chris Deroche, Jeff Peterson, and Keith Sheehan.
The Southern Maine quintet was comprised of junior James Frost (Brewer, Maine/Calais HS), sophomore Joe Hamilton (Old Orchard Beach, Maine), senior captain Ashley Fifield (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle HS), sophomore Dustin Freeman (York, Maine), and sophomore George Shabo (Old Orchard Beach, Maine).
Bates College took third place with a 57, followed by Colby College at 59 and the University of New England with a 61.
