Colby men win Emmanuel Tournament

BOSTON, Mass. --- Nick Farrell had 13 points, three assists, and three steals to lead the Colby College men's basketball team to a 65-60 championship game win over Emmanuel College in the Emmanuel Tournament on Sunday night.

A day after shooting 78 percent from the field in the second half in a win against Widener, Colby (2-0) shot 54 percent (14-for-26) in the second half against Emmanuel. The Saints had a 25-24 lead at the break.

Mike Rutherford came off the bench and had 13 points and six rebounds in 20 minutes of play for the Mules. Patrick McGowan added 10 points, seven rebounds, and three steals for Colby. Michael Westbrooks finished with 10 points, while Drew Cohen had eight points and eight rebounds.

Thomas Tolliver paced Emmanuel with 16 points and nine rebounds.

Colby will play its home opener Tuesday at 4 p.m. against a strong Babson College team.
