COLBY MEN'S BASKETBALL LOSES, BUT CLINCHES PLAYOFF SPOT
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. --- The Colby College men's basketball team lost a
tough 80-74 game to Williams College on Friday night, but the Mules did
clinch a New England Small College Athletic Conference playoff bid.
Colby (12-7) is one of four teams tied for fifth place with 3-5 records
heading into the final day of regular season league play on Saturday. With
Bowdoin's win over Middlebury on Friday, the Mules clinched a playoff spot.
Middlebury and Connecticut College are both 1-7 in the league. The top
eight teams make the playoffs.
Tucker Kain had 30 points and 15 rebounds to lead Williams (15-8).
Colby, which led 39-38 at halftime, got 21 points and five rebounds. Drew
Cohen added 20 points, six rebounds and four blocks. Andrew Jenkins
finished with 14 points, while Michael Westbrooks had seven points, eight
rebounds and five assists.
