Gordon's overtime goal lifts Mules to victory
HENNIKER, N.H. --- Jared Gordon scored off an assist from Joe Rothwell in overtime to help the Colby College men's hockey team to a 4-3 win against 14th-ranked New England College on Saturday.
New England College (0-2) led 1-0 after two periods on a goal by Greg Tam. However, the Mules got their offense going in the final 20 minutes.
Kevin Lyons tallied from Patrick Walsh and Nick Bayley to tie the game at 1-1. After NEC went up 2-1, Joel Morash of Colby scored off assists from Walsh and Greg Osborne to tie the game a second time.
Sainbey Woodtor put NEC up 3-2 with 5:29 left in the game. The Mules, though, fought back again when Eric Molander scored with 4:27 remaining off a pass from Arthur Fritch.
Chris Ries stopped 21 shots for the Colby win.
