Colby men's hockey takes road win over Skidmore
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. --- Nick Bayley moved into a tie for 10th place on Colby College's all-time scoring list as the Mules took an 8-2 victory at Skidmore College on Friday.
Bayley finished with two goals and Joe Rothwell added his first collegiate goal and two assists to pace Colby (3-1). Josh Reber, who had the eventual game-winning goal, and Mike Butler also scored their first goals in a Colby uniform.
Bayley is in a tie for 10th place with Derek Bettencourt in career scoring with 48 goals and 73 assists for 121 points. Bayley needs just two more points to move into eighth place.
Jared Gordon had three assists for Colby, which plays a 3 p.m. game at Castleton State Saturday. Cory Ernst, Barry Brown and Todd O'Hara also tallied for the Mules.
Skidmore (0-5) led 1-0 after the first period, but Colby scored three times in the second period to take a 3-2 lead and then exploded for five goals in the final period. The Mules had four of the five goals in the opening 7:10 of the period.
Chris Ries stopped 16 shots for Colby.
