Union men's lacrosse beats Colby in overtime
NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. --- Dan Myerow scored with 1:36 left in the overtime period in lifting Union College to a 9-8 victory over Colby College in men's lacrosse play Monday in Florida.
The Mules (0-2) allowed four goals in the third period for the second straight day in losing a halftime lead. Colby led 4-2 at halftime over Hamilton on Sunday, but lost the game 8-6. The Mules were leading 5-2 over Union before the Dutchmen scored four in the third and two in the fourth to create the extra period.
Adam Kirk (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and Ryan Scott (Tobyhana, Pa.) both had three goals for Colby. Rob Dudley (New Caanan, Conn.) added two goals, while Zach Goodnough (Brunswick, Maine) and Matt Roland (Somers, Conn.) both had two assists.
Colby finishes its Florida trip Wednesday with a game against Williams College at 4 p.m.
