Williams defeats Mules in league men's lacrosse game
NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. -- The Williams College men's lacrosse team opened up a 4-0 lead after the first quarter on the way to a 9-4 win against Colby College in New England Small College Athletic Conference play Wednesday.
Colby goaltender Jeff Miller (Marshfield, Mass.) kept his team in the game with 19 saves.
Ryan Scott (Tobyhana, Pa.) had two goals and Tim Brown (Manchester, Mass.) had two assists for Colby (0-3, 0-1 NESCAC). Troy Lieberman (Andover, Mass.) and Zach Goodnough (Brunswick, Maine) also had goals for the Mules.
Colby will play host to Keene State in the Mules' home opener at 5 p.m. next Wednesday. The game was scheduled to be played at Portland's Fitzpatrick Stadium, but will be now played at Bill Alfond Field.
