Colby men's lacrosse wins home opener over Keene State
WATERVILLE, Maine Tim Brown (Manchester, Mass.) had four goals and one assist in lifting the Colby College men's lacrosse team to a 9-7 non-conference victory over Keene State on Wednesday at Bill Alfond Field.
The Mules (1-3) were playing their home opener on the brand new Bill Alfond Field, a state-of-the-art synthetic turf field.
Colby led 5-1 after the first quarter and 7-2 at halftime. Keene State (0-4) scored the only three goals of the third quarter to cut the margin to 7-5, but Brown scored twice in the fourth quarter to stretch the Mules' lead to 9-5.
Zach Goodnough (Brunswick, Maine) and Ryan Scott (Columbia, N.J.) both had two goals and one assist for Colby. Dan Schupack (Cheshire, Conn.) also tallied for the Mules.
Meade MacKay (Stratham, N.H.) paced the Owls with three goals and one assist. Eric Momnie (South Windsor, Conn.) added two goals and one assist.
Colby goaltender Jeff Miller (Marshfield, Mass.) and Keene State keeper Matt Johnson (Derry, N.H.) both had six stops.
