HARTFORD, Conn.- Sophomores Chris Walsh (Newton, Mass.) and Curtis Kahn (Cohasset, Mass.) scored three goals apiece to lead the Trinity Bantams to their first league victory over the Colby College Mules in NESCAC (New England Small College Athletic Conference) men's lacrosse action Saturday.
The Bantams took a 5-1 lead over Colby at the end of the first quarter as senior Jake Dore (Manchester, Mass.) scored two goals from Kahn and Walsh added his first two points of the game. Colby sophomores Dan Schupack (Cheshire, Conn.) and Tim Brown (Manchester, Mass.) tried to match Trinity's effort with their respective goals in the second quarter, but the Bantams retaliated with three more goals from junior Nick Petri (Framingham, Mass.), Walsh and Kahn.
Trinity goalie, junior Jakob Isbrandsten (Greenwich, Conn.) had a flawless second half, keeping the Mules scoreless in the third and fourth quarters while Kahn added goals in the third and fourth to solidify the 10-3 victory. Isbrandsten had a total of 19 saves and Colby goaltender Jeff Miller (Marshfield, Mass.) saved 13 shots.
