Colby men's soccer wins final home game
WATERVILLE, Maine --- Bobby Abendroth (BB&N/Natick, Mass.) had two goals and two assists in powering the Colby College men's soccer team to a 7-0 non-conference win over St. Joseph's College on Tuesday.
The Mules led 5-0 at halftime in improving to 5-6-2 this season. St. Joseph's fell to 6-11-1 with the loss.
Abendroth was part of the opening four goals for Colby. He had an assist on a score by Will Kinder (Minnechaug/Wilbraham, Mass.) in the seventh minute of play. Abendroth then scored about a minute later off an assist from Daniel Kiernan (Roxbury Latin/Brookline, Mass.).
Kiernan, Abendroth, and Kinder all scored goals in the final 15 minutes of the opening half for the 5-0 margin at the break.
Michael Butler (Deerfield Academy/Saint John, N.B.) and John McCormack (Lincoln-Sudbury/Sudbury, Mass.) added second-half goals.
Josh Kahane (Newton North/Newton, Mass.) had three stops for the shutout.
