Davidson, Gullette honored by NESCAC
WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College senior goalkeeper Brian Davidson (Loomis Chaffee/Needham, Mass.) and junior defender Russell Gullette (Guilford/Guilford, Conn.) were both named to the second team of the New England Small College Athletic Conference all-conference squad.
Davidson had 67 saves in 12 games and posted a 1.31 goals-against average. He kept the Mules in most NESCAC games, but Colby lost five one-goal games in which it scored just three times in those contests.
Davidson started five games as a sophomore and then broke into the starting lineup for good his junior year.
Gullette's steady play on defense was a big reason why the Mules allowed just 17 goals in 14 games. No Mule opponent in regulation play had more than two goals in a game. Gullette started all 13 games in which he played in his first year and started all 12 games in which he suited up as a sophomore. Gullette played in all 14 games this season.
