Bowdoin men's soccer holds off Colby
WATERVILLE, Maine --- Thomas Bresnehan (Noble & Greenough/Sherborn, Mass.) scored with about 13 minutes left in the game to give 21st-ranked Bowdoin College a 2-0 lead on the way to a 2-1 victory over Colby College in New England Small College Athletic Conference men's soccer Saturday.
After a scoreless opening half, Bowdoin (3-0, 2-0 NESCAC) went ahead 1-0 about 15 minutes into the half on a goal by Simon Parsons (St. Paul's/Hollis, N.H.) off an assist from Kevin Mullins (Duxbury/Duxbury, Mass.).
Bresnehan scored the eventual game-winning goal 17 minutes later.
Colby (0-2, 0-2 NESCAC) got on the board with less than two minutes left. Monty Hankin (Canandaigua Academy/Canandaigua, N.Y.) tallied off an assist from Brian Kasarjian (Plymouth North/Plymouth, Mass.).
Nathan Lovitz (Lawrence/Fairfield, Maine) made two saves in the nets for Bowdoin. Brian Davidson (Loomis Chaffee/Needham, Mass.) stopped nine shots for the Mules.
