Reed, Saunders lead men's alpine team in slalom

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. --- Colby College men's alpine skiers Charlie Reed and Robert Saunders both finished in the top 10 in slalom racing at the Williams College Ski Carnival on Saturday.

Reed finished in sixth place with a time of 1:49.23 and Saunders had a clocking of 1:49.55 for ninth place. Jody Centauro took 16th place in 1:51.25, Warner Nickerson took 23rd in 1:56.44 and Ryan Praskievicz took 29th in 1:59.48. Nickerson, for the second day in a row, had a great first run when he was second with a 50.17.

Nicole Wessen placed 23rd for the Colby women in the slalom. Alissa Consenstein took 26th place in 1:44.16, Siri Ashton took 28th in 1:45.35 and Ashley Best was 30th in 1:46.56.

In women's Nordic sprints, Alex Jospe, Aime Schwartz and Hillary Easter took 13th in 38:48.4.

Austin Ross, Brandon Smithwood and Kris Dobie took 14th in 31:42.9 for the Colby men's Nordic team.

The men's slalom team placed fourth and the women took seventh. Men's Nordic was eighth and the women took ninth. Colby placed seventh in the overall team scores with 414 points.
