COLBY SWIM TEAMS EASILY DEFEAT BATES
WATERVILLE, Maine --- Meg Vallaly won three events, including a pool record
in the 50 freestyle, to help the Colby College women's swimming team to a
164-128 victory over Bates College on Saturday.
The Colby men took a 182-100 victory over Bates in the other meet.
Vallaly won the 50 freestyle in 25.02 and also took the 100 freestyle
(53.94) and the 200 freestyle (1:57.37).
Beth Foxwell added wins in the 100 backstroke (1:02.01) and 200 backstroke
(2:14.20) for the Mules. Annie Muir set a pool record in the 200
breaststroke (2:28.30), Kelly Norsworthy won the 100 breaststroke
(1:07.83), Mary Warlaumont took the 200 butterfly (2:18.09) and Lilli
Higgins captured the 500 freestyle (5:23.65) for Colby (3-3).
Tom Ireland won the 50 freestyle (21.53) and 100 freestyle (47.77) for the
Colby men (2-4). Evan Mullin took the 200 freestyle (1:46.71) and 500
freestyle (4:59.37), Jabez Dewey was a winner in the 100 backstroke (53.38)
and 200 backstroke (2:00.50), and Patrick Dean won the 100 breaststroke
(1:02.21) and 200 breaststroke (2:15.34). Mitch Bartkiewicz won the 200
individual medley for the Mules in 2:03.82.
