Women's swim team finishes eighth at NCAA meet

HOPE, Mich. --- Kelly Norsworthy finished in fifth place in the 200-yard breaststroke and earned her second individual All-America honor for Colby College at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday night.

Norsworthy, a first-year swimmer, helped Colby finish a school-best eighth in the overall team standings with 164 points. Emory University won the meet for the first time in school history.

Norsworthy had a time of 2:22.27 in the 200 breaststroke. She placed third in the 100 breaststroke Friday.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Lilli Higgins, Meg Vallaly, Beth Foxwell and Laura Miller earned All-America honors for taking sixth place in 3:32.55.

Miller was 11th in the 100 freestyle in 52.81 and Vallaly placed 14th in 53.31 (53.01 prelim).
