Dewey 11th in 100 backstroke at men's NCAA meet

HOPE, Mich. --- Colby College's Jabez Dewey (Worcester, Mass.) finished in 11th place and earned honorable mention All-American honors in the 100-yard backstroke at the NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at Hope College.

Dewey had a time of 51.73 in finishing third in the consolation final (places nine to 16) on Friday night. He had a 52.19 in a preliminary heat in the morning session.

Dewey was 22nd in the 200-yard backstroke in 1:55.13 in Saturday morning's prelims. His best time coming into the meet was 1:56.21.
