Colby volleyball has 2-2 weekend
NORTHHAMPTON, Mass. --- The Colby College volleyball team went 2-2 at the Hall of Fame Tournament hosted by four Springfield-area colleges.
The Mules took a 3-0 victory over Bowdoin and lost 3-1 to Middlebury in matches Saturday.
In the Bowdoin win, Cait Cleaver had eight kills and 12 defensive digs. Mariah Daly added eight kills and five blocks in the 30-23, 30-17, 30-26 victory.
Daly had 12 kills in a 15-30, 30-26, 30-26, 30-27 loss to Middlebury. Kaitlin Adams had 11 kills and Cassie Sancartier dished 38 assists.
In Friday's play at the Hall of Fame Tournament, Colby took a 3-0 (30-17, 30-22, 30-26) win over Gordon College after falling 3-2 (30-26, 30-27, 24-30, 25-30, 15-8) to host Smith College.
Cleaver finished with 18 kills, 15 digs, and four blocks in the loss to Smith. Kendall Kirby added 37 digs and three aces, while Sancartier had 52 assists.
Adams had 13 kills and seven blocks in the win against Gordon. Megan Devlin added 11 kills and four blocks.
