Colby volleyball finishes with 2-1 NESCAC Weekend
LEWISTON, Maine --- The Colby College volleyball team split two matches Saturday, taking a 3-0 win against Wesleyan University and falling 3-2 to Trinity College in NESCAC matches at Bates College.
Cait Cleaver had 12 kills and 18 digs in a 30-27, 30-26, 30-15 win against Wesleyan. Megan Devlin added 21 digs and seven kills, while Vanessa Ambatielos had 23 digs.
In the loss to Trinity (30-26, 24-30, 31-29, 21-30, 16-14), Cleaver had 25 kills and 23 digs. Devlin finished with 18 kills and 33 digs, Kendall Kirby had 30 digs, Cassie Sancartier had 40 assists and 18 digs, Jennifer Radcliffe had 20 assists and 22 digs, and Julie Hike had five blocks.
On Friday, Colby easily took a 3-0 victory over Connecticut College to win at least 20 games for the third straight year.
Devlin had 14 kills and 18 digs, Mariah Daly added 13 kills and three blocks, and Sancartier contributed 25 assists, 12 digs, and two aces.
Colby is 21-9 overall and 5-5 in the NESCAC heading into next weekend's championship tourney at Williams College.
