SOUTHERN MAINE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL DEFEATS COLBY
WATERVILLE, Maine --- Megan Myles (Edward Little/Turner, Maine) had 18
points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals in helping
15th-ranked University of Southern Maine to a 69-57 victory over Colby
College in non-conference women's basketball Wednesday night.
Shannon Kynoch (So. Burlington/So. Burlington, Vt.) added 17 points on
7-for-9 shooting for Southern Maine (4-2). Katie Sibley (Boothbay
Region/Boothbay, Maine) had 11 points and five assists, while Ashley Marble
(Woodland/Topsfield, Maine) finished with 10 points.
Colby (3-4) had 10 turnovers in the opening 12 minutes of play, but the
Mules settled down and just 13 turnovers in the final 28 minutes of the
game. Southern Maine led 34-29 at halftime.
Kathleen Nicholson (Kimball Union/Tuftonboro, N.H.) and Tanya Rosbash
(Newton South/Newton, Mass.) both had 12 points and three assists for
Colby. Wendy Bonner (Lexington/Lexington, Mass.) had eight points on
8-for-8 free throw shooting and had a game-high 12 rebounds. Katie McCabe
(Taft School/Watertown, Conn.) finished with 10 points.
