COLBY WOMEN'S HOCKEY STOPS SACRED HEART, 3-1
MILFORD, Conn. --- Heather DeVito (Arlington, Mass.) scored her 49th and
50th career goals to lead the Colby College women's hockey team to a 3-1
victory over Sacred Heart on Friday at Milford Ice Pavillion.
DeVito has 50 goals and 37 assists for 87 career points. She leads the
Mules (5-6-2) with nine goals and three assists for 12 points.
Sacred Heart (12-12-1) took a 1-0 lead at 10:47 of the opening period on a
goal by Jessica Felt. DeVito, though, tied the game with just 48 seconds
left in the first period on an assist by Lauren Goethals (Needham, Mass.).
After a scoreless second period, DeVito scored on the power play with just
2:12 left in the contest off an assist from Michele Barmash (Kirkland, PQ).
Barmash gave the Mules an insurance goal off another assist by Goethals
with only 16 seconds left to play.
Genevieve Triganne (Point-Claire, Quebec) stopped 25 shots for the Colby win.
Colby is off until hosting seventh-ranked Bowdoin College at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
