COLBY WOMEN'S HOCKEY DEFEATS SOUTHERN MAINE
GORHAM, Maine --- Genevieve Triganne (Pointe-Claire, Quebec) earned her first collegiate shutout and Jennifer McAleer (Dublin, N.H.) and Michele Barmash (Kirkland, PQ) both had three point nights to lead the Colby College women's hockey team to a 4-0 victory at Southern Maine on Tuesday night.
Colby first-year head coach David Venditti coached at Southern Maine the past four years. Southern Maine took 3-2 and 5-3 wins over Colby last year.
With a 39-15 Colby shot advantage, Triganne had a relatively easy night with 15 stops. She made nine of those stops in the third period.
McAleer had two goals and one assist, while Barmash gave out three assists. Mallory Young (Hanover, N.H.) had one goal and one assist, and first-year defender Marissa Mullane (Wallingford, Conn.) had her first collegiate goal. Heather DeVito (Arlington, Mass.) and Lindsay Tedeschi (Elkins, N.H.) both had one assist.
Colby will get a long break before hosting Plattsburgh State at 7 p.m. December 3.
