Bowdoin women's hockey takes win over Colby
BRUNSWICK, Maine --- The fifth-ranked Bowdoin College women's ice hockey team got goals from seven different players and another stellar performance from goalie Cat McEachern in a 8-0 shutout of rival Colby on Saturday afternoon. With over 210 minutes of perfect play in goal, McEachern has set the school record for consecutive scoreless minutes in net. Bowdoin improves to 4-1-1, while Colby falls to 2-3-0.
Bowdoin got first-period goals from Kelsey Wilcox and Caroline Currie to lead 2-0 after one frame. Katie Coyne opened the second period with a goal to make it 3-0 before Meghan Tanguay found the back of the net, improving the lead to 4-0. Bowdoin poured it on in the final period as Kristen Cameron opened the period with a goal to make it 5-0. Katie Forney scored two straight goals before Lydia Hawkins found the back of the net to close out the scoring.
McEachern made 21 saves in goal and has not allowed a score since the second period against Manhattanville on November 28. Colby's Genevieve Triganne made 36 stops for the Mules.
