Colby women's hockey finishes regular season with win over Wesleyan
WATERVILLE, Maine -- The Colby College women's hockey team made sure of
clinching the sixth seed spot in the New England Small College Athletic
Conference playoffs with a 6--1 win over Wesleyan University in the final
regular season game at Alfond Arena on Saturday.
Colby (7-10-3, 5-8-3) will play at third-seeded Williams College in a
NESCAC quarterfinal game next Saturday.
Heather DeVito (Arlington, Mass.) had one goal and two assists for the
Mules, who took a 3-0 lead after the first period. Michele Barmash
(Kirkland, PQ) added a pair of goals, while Marissa Mullane (Wallingford,
Conn.) and MaryClaire McGovern (Stowe, Vt.) both had one goal and one
assist. Lindsay Tedeschi (Elkins, N.H.) also tallied for Colby.
Jessica Fischer (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) had the lone goal for Wesleyan
(3-19-1, 1-14-1).
