Jones earns IWLCA All-America honor
WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College's Kim Jones (Governor Dummer Academy/Wenham, Mass.) was named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association/US Lacrosse All-American Team as a defender.
Jones was named to the second of three teams. She is the 11th All-America player for head coach Heidi Godomsky in 12 seasons.
Jones, a senior, led Colby in ground balls (72), caused turnovers (54) and minutes played (832). She was second on the team in draw controls with 27 and added three goals on just four shots.
Jones, who had earlier earned New England Small College Athletic Conference first-team honors and New England All-Region honors, finished her career as the all-time leader at Colby in ground balls with 239. Kara Marchant '97 had the old record of 199. Jones also had 156 caused turnovers and added six goals and one assist in 59 games.
Colby finished its season at 11-5 and ranked 11th in the IWLCA national poll.
