Cox leads Colby women's soccer to win
STANDISH, Maine --- Libba Cox (Guilford, Conn.) scored all three goals to lift the Colby College women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over St. Joseph's College in non-conference play Wednesday.
Colby improved to 6-3-1 heading into a big NESCAC game at Amherst College at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Cox scored 15:30 into the game off an assist from Kaitlin Herlihy (Simsbury, Conn.) for a 1-0 halftime lead.
The Mules put the game away in the opening 15 minutes of the second half. Cox tallied at 52:40 from Liz Morbeck (Seattle, Wash.) and then scored again at 59:20 from Lauren Goethals (Needham, Mass.). Goethals got her first collegiate point with the assist.
Liza Benson (Orchid, Fla.) made two saves for the Colby shutout.
