MIDDLEBURY WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS COLBY, 3-1
WATERVILLE, Maine --- Middlebury College stayed unbeaten on the season as
Mayo Fujii (Londonderry, Vt.) scored two goals in a 3-1 victory over Colby
College in New England Small College Athletic Conference women's soccer
Saturday.
Middlebury (6-0, 4-0 NESCAC) went up 1-0 at halftime when Fujii scored at
37:30.
Fujii got the eventual game-winning goal about 12 minutes into the second
half off an assist from Ainsley Close (Mercer Island, Wash.). Middlebury
got an insurance goal from Laura Kwoh (Pittsburgh, Pa.) with about 20
minutes left in the game.
Colby (3-3-1, 0-3-1) forward Christina Andaya (Old Bridge, N.J.) scored
off an assist from Jenny Rutherford (Ketchum, Idaho) with 6:33 to play.
