HARTFORD, Conn. - Sophomore forward Erin Bridge (Somers, Conn.) scored a pair of unassisted goals to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 4-1 win over the visiting Colby College Mules in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's soccer action Saturday.
Trinity improves to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the NESCAC with its fourth straight win, while the Mules drop to 2-2-1 overall and 0-2-1 in the league.
Although Colby outshot the Bantams, 15-7, Trinity got on the board first with less than six minutes remaining in the first half on a goal by junior forward Kristen Geiger (Canterbury, N.H.) and never looked back. Leading, 1-0, at the half, Bridge scored 41 seconds into the second frame, putting a nice move on Colby sophomore goalie Liza Benson (Orchid, Fla.), and again in the 57th minute to give Trinity a 3-0 lead.
Bantam senior captain midfielder Nicole Mauger (East Bridgewater, Mass.) added a goal and assist, while senior captain goalie Brenna Shields (Cutchogue, N.Y.) made seven saves. Sophomore forward Laura Williamson (Manchester, Conn.) scored for Colby.
