Williamson leads Colby women's soccer past Husson

BANGOR, Maine --- Colby College sophomore forward Laura Williamson (Manchester, Conn.) has 20 career goals after scoring three times Wednesday in a 4-0 non-conference win over Husson College.

Williamson has 20 goals and eight assists in just 20 games with Colby. She has six goals and one assist for 13 points this season.

Williamson had two first-half goals to put the Mules (3-2-1) up for good. She scored unassisted at 11:09 and then tallied at 20:51 off an assist from junior midfielder Kaitlin Herlihy (Simsbury, Conn.).

Williamson added her third goal with about 25 minutes left in regulation off a pass from junior defender Kara McCabe (Watertown, Conn.). Meg Cordner (Katonah, N.Y.) scored her first goal of the season with 3:59 left in the game from first-year midfielder Jenny Rutherford (Ketchum, Idaho), who recorded her first collegiate point.

Colby goalkeeper Elizabeth Riley (Saco, Maine) stopped five shots for the shutout.

The Mules will play host to Middlebury at 2 p.m. Saturday.
