Colby football player Ames honored again
WATERVILLE, Maine ---- Senior tight end Roddy Ames (New Hampton School/Cotuit, Mass.) earned his third and fourth postseason honors after being named to the D3football.com All-East Region Team and to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Northeast Team.
Ames was the tight end on the second team for the D3football.com All-East Team and earned first team honors by the ECAC.
Ames had already been named to the New England Football Writers Division II/III All-New England Team and to the first team for the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC).
Ames led Colby in scoring this year with 36 points thanks to a team-high six touchdowns. He caught 19 passes for 223 yards and at 6-foot-4 and 236 pounds, Ames was a fine blocker on the offensive line. Ames finished his career with 41 catches for 506 yards and eight touchdowns despite missing his first season with the Mules because of injury.
Colby had an 18-6 record, including a 7-1 record in 2005, during Ames' final three years with the Mules.
