Colby baseball loses tight game to Husson, 5-4
BANGOR, Maine --- Husson College scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning and then held off a furious Colby College rally in the ninth inning in taking a 5-4 non-conference victory in baseball on Tuesday.
Tyler Hales and Andy Carr both had RBI triples for Colby (6-12) in the ninth inning. Tom Salemy's RBI double scored Jon Vacca, who started the inning off with a single. Jon Tefft, though, managed to close out the game for Husson.
Hales and Carr both had two hits for the Mules, while Roddy Ames and Vacca each had one run and one hit.
Colby's Justin Clark got two outs in the eighth inning before being relieved. He allowed one earned run, gave up five hits and had no strikeouts or walks.
The Mules play host to University of Southern Maine on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
