Colby baseball drops non-league game to Thomas
WATERVILLE, Maine --- Thomas College scored seven runs in the top of the fifth inning on the way to taking a 10-6 non-conference victory over Colby College in baseball Thursday at Coombs Field.
Jordan McDonald (Pelham, N.H.) led the Terriers (6-9) with four hits and a pair of runs scored. Tim Mercier (Lewiston, Maine) and Brandon Connors (Rochester, N.H.) both had three hits for Thomas.
The Terriers led 2-1 heading into the fifth inning and then scored seven runs on six hits to pull away.
Andy Carr (Conway, N.H.) and Tyler Hales (Lexington, Mass.) both had two hits to pace Colby (5-5). Roddy Ames (Cotuit, Mass.) and Tom Salemy (Odessa, Fla.) both scored two runs.
Mark Lucier Jr. (S. Yarmouth, Maine) earned the victory for Thomas with seven innings of work.
Colby will play Trinity College at 3 p.m. Friday in a New England Small College Athletic Conference game.
