Colby baseball player Carr on NESCAC first team
WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College junior third baseman Andy Carr (Conway, N.H.) was named to the New England Small College Athletic Conference all-conference first team for baseball on Wednesday.
Carr led Colby in batting average (.408), at-bats (120), total hits (49), doubles (13), homers (4), RBI (37), slugging percentage (.633) and was tied for the team lead in runs scored (27) and on-base percentage (.455).
Carr was a clutch hitter for the Mules, batting .909 (10-for-11) with runners on third base and less than two outs. He also batted .533 (24-for-45) with runners in scoring position and had a .569 success rate in advancing runners.
In the 2005 season, Carr ranked second on Colby in batting at .333 and hit .278 as a first-year player. Carr has 102 hits, 48 runs scored, 29 doubles, six homers and 67 RBI heading into his senior year with the Mules.
