Women's cross country 7th at Open NE meet; men place 28th
BOSTON, Mass. --- Karen Prisby finished in 23rd place overall as the Colby
College women's cross country team took seventh place at the Open New
England Championships at Franklin Park on Saturday.
The Mules, ranked fifth in Division III, were running against Division I,
II and III athletes in the meet.
The Colby men's cross country team placed 28th out of 47 teams.
Boston University won the women's meet with all five runners in the top
20. Colby was third overall among Division III schools, finishing with 277
points and placing behind second place Williams (133) and fifth place
Amherst (242). The Mules placed 10th at last year's meet.
Prisby had a time of 18 minutes, 39 seconds over the 5-kilometer course.
Jess Minty placed 42nd in 19:01, Anna King was 53rd in 19:11 and Liz Turner
took 55th in 19:12.
Colby's John Swain had a time of 26:32 over 4.95 miles to place 67th out
of 321 finishers in the men's race. Dan Vassallo was 91st in 26:52 for the
Mulels.
