FitzPatrick earns All-ECAC honor for finish
NEW LONDON, Conn. --- Colby College first-year runner Devan FitzPatrick earned All-Eastern College Athletic Conference Team honors after placing sixth at the ECAC Division III Women's Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Connecticut College.
FitzPatrick had a time of 22:50 over the 6-kilometer course to lead Colby, which rested all of its top seven runners except FitzPatrick for next Saturday's New England Division III Championships at Springfield College.
The Colby women placed sixth out of 29 teams with a score of 180. Amherst College won the women's meet with a 71.
Shannon Burnham was 42nd overall for the Mules in 23:57, Elizabeth Littlefield had a 24:03 for 45th, Kirsten Davis took 47th in 24:06, Jennifer Macdowell was 52nd in 24:15, Lane Marder had a 24:19 for 56th and Hannah Traska took 57th in 24:20.
The Colby men's cross country team also rested most of its top seven runners in taking 19th place with a score of 544 in a field of 38 teams. Williams won the meet with a score of 46.
Alex Gill led the Colby runners with a 78th place finish in 27:25 over the 8-kilometer course. John Hall placed 102nd in 27:55, John Waller had a 27:56 for 107th, Bryan Gattis placed 120th in 28:11, Bob Glotfelty was 157th in 28:54, Chris Deroo took 195th in 30:19 and Brad Woodworth was 196th in 30:25.
