Colby tennis player Dunn falls at NCAA tourney

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College junior Allison Dunn (St. Gregory College Prep/Tucson, Ariz.) lost her opening match in the NCAA Division III Tournament Round of 32 on Saturday at the University of California at Santa Cruz.

Dunn fell 6-1, 6-1 to Washington & Lee's Emily Applegate. She was in singles play for the first time at the NCAA tourney. Dunn competed in doubles play last year and earned All-America honors with Sara Hughes.

Dunn has a 68-38 record in her three years at Colby. She missed the 2005 fall season while studying abroad, but managed a solid 17-8 record during the spring season. Dunn was 9-4 in singles play.
