Colby field hockey earns win over Amherst, 2-1
WATERVILLE, Maine --- Nikki Stadelman (East Falmouth, Mass.) scored with
2:04 left in the game to break a 1-1 tie and send the Colby College field
hockey team to a 2-1 win against Amherst College in New England Small
College Athletic Conference play Saturday at Bill Alfond Field.
Stadelman scored off a pass from MaryClaire McGovern (Stowe, Vt.) on a
penalty corner.
Amherst (5-5, 2-3 NESCAC) scored just 4:01 into the game on a goal by
Katherine Skrivan (St. Louis, Mo.) off an assist from Christa Porcaro
(Pelham, N.J.).
Frazer Humes (Littleton, Colo.) scored her first collegiate goal to tie the
game with 13:20 left to halftime.
Jamie Enos (South Hamilton, Mass.) stopped seven shots for the Colby (4-6,
1-6) victory. Kathleen Boucher made eight saves for Amherst.
