Field hockey team, 11 players earn academic honors
WATERVILLE, Maine --- The Colby College field hockey team earned the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Team Academic Award for having a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
The Mules also placed 11 players on the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad for having a grade point average of 3.0 or better. The players honored are Beth Cole, Nicole Crocker, Jess Egan, Emily Lawrence, Christine Maloney, MaryClaire McGovern, Jennifer Reilly, Chelsea Rosenheimer, Mary Clare Snediker, Nicole Stadelman and Emily Tull.
Colby, coached by Amy Bernatchez, will return all but two players from a 5-8 team from last fall. The Mules started a number of first-year players and sophomores and lost four one-goal games.
