Colby men's basketball drops NESCAC game to Trinity

HARTFORD, Conn. --- Senior co-captain forward Tyler Rhoten (Ridgewood, N.J.) tallied 20 points, eight rebounds, and four blocked shots to lead the Trinity Bantams to a 68-48 win over the visiting Colby College White Mules in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's basketball action.

Trinity (14-3, 4-0 NESCAC) scored the final six points of the first half, including the last four on a pair of lay-ups by junior guard Kino Clarke (Brooklyn, N.Y.) to take a 34-26 lead at the break. Junior guard Nick Farrell (Aspen, Colo.) kept Colby in the game in the first half with 11 points and Rhoten paced Trinity over the first 20 minutes with nine points.

The Bantams extended their lead to double-digits by the midpoint of the second half at 50-40 on a pair of free throws by junior guard Patrick Martin (Springfield, Mass.) and Colby could get no closer after that.

Farrell had 15 points, six rebounds, and four steals and junior center Drew Cohen (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.) totaled 11 points, a team-high seven rebounds, and a pair of blocks for Colby.
