Salem State men's hockey defeats Colby
SALEM, Mass. ----- The Colby College men's hockey team had two leads in the
game, but Salem State fought back with five goals in the final two periods
to pull out a 5-3 win over the Mules on Friday night.
Colby (11-6) had 1-0 and 2-1 leads in the game. The Mules got the only goal
of the first period from Matt Ahern off assists from Adam Marino and Adam
Carlson.
Mickey Serra tied the game at 1-1 for Salem State (9-7-2) just 2:45 into
the second period. However, the Mules went ahead again when T.J. Kelley
scored his eighth goal of the year off assists from Mike DiMaggio and Ryan
O'Flanagan. Serra tied the game at 2-2 after two periods with a goal at 12:58.
Charlie Levin tallied at 4:57 and Drew Madeiros scored at 11:34 to give
Salem State the lead for good.
DiMaggio scored off an assist from Carlson at 14:14, but Paul Snell scored
just 24 seconds later to seal the victory.
