Colby men's lacrosse falls at Colorado College
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- Colorado College used big first and third quarters on its way to a 19-11 non-conference victory over Colby College in men's lacrosse Sunday night at Washburn Field.
Colorado College led 5-0 at one point early in the second quarter, but the Mules (2-2) battled back with six straight goals at one point to take a 7-6 lead. The Tigers scored the final two goals of the half, including the final goal with 11 seconds remaining, to take an 8-7 lead into intermission. Colorado College then pulled away in the third quarter by outscoring the Mules by a 7-0 margin.
Ryan Scott had six goals and two assists to lead Colby. Rory Murphy and Caddy Brooks each finished with two goals and one assist, while Zach Goodnough had the other goal.
Jud Brown led the Tigers with two goals and five assists. Ted Nash added five goals and one assist.
Colorado College had a slight 45-39 edge in shots, but got 21 saves from two goalies. Jeff Miller and Alex Farmer combined for 19 stops for the Mules.
Colby will play Williams College at Colorado College in a New England Small College Athletic Conference game on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. (EST).
