Colby men's lacrosse romps past New England College
HENNIKER, N.H. --- The Colby College men's lacrosse team led 11-2 at halftime on the way to a 15-4 victory over New England College on Tuesday in non-conference play.
Rory Murphy had three goals and three assists to lead the Mules, who won their second straight game and move to 4-5 on the season. Caddy Brooks added two goals and three assists, while Ryan Scott had three goals. Pete Ippolito had two goals, Todd Boertzel dished two assists and the Mules got one goal apiece from Nick Klann, Jason Hine, Dan Schupack, Drew Piekarski and Sam Kennedy. Hine and Kennedy each scored their first collegiate goals.
Jeff Miller stopped four shots in 45 minutes and Tim Patch made three saves in the final 15 minutes for Colby, which plays host to Tufts University at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The old time start for the Tufts game was 1 p.m., but the game has now been pushed back to a 1:30 p.m. start.
