Colby men's lacrosse falls in final game to Wesleyan

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. --- Wesleyan University outscored Colby College by 3-1 margins in the first and fourth quarters on the way to taking a 10-6 victory in New England Small College Athletic Conference men's lacrosse Saturday.

The Mules finished their season at 6-8 overall, while Wesleyan improved to 12-2.

Caddy Brooks had two goals and one assist to lead the Mules. He finished his first year with Colby tied for the team lead in scoring with 24 goals and 14 assists for 38 points. Ryan Scott, who had two goals on Saturday, had 35 goals and three assists for 38 points.

Rory Murphy and Tim Brown both added one goal and one assist for the Mules, who got 15 saves in goal from Jeff Miller.

Jordan Funt and Grayson Connors both had three goals for Wesleyan.

Colby trailed 7-5 after three quarters and then got a goal from Scott less than one minute into the fourth quarter to make it a one goal game. Wesleyan got the final three goals to pull away.
