Colby men's soccer earns team academic award
WATERVILLE, Maine --- The Colby College men's soccer team earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award for the fifth straight year.
Colby has the longest streak of earning the award of any New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's soccer team.
The Mules were one of only two NESCAC schools to earn the award for the 2004-05 academic year. Colby, coached by Mark Serdjenian, had a 3.32 team grade point average. Bates was the only other NESCAC school to earn the award with a 3.19.
Of the 316 soccer teams honored, 65 squads were men's teams and women had 251 teams honored with the award. A team had to have a grade point average of 3.0 or better to earn the award.
Colby had a 7-7 record in 2005.
